Amy, a talented Palyku woman from the Pilbara, has made her mark in the world of theatre. Graduating from the WA Academy of Performing Arts in 2004, she has a Certificate IV in Theatre (Aboriginal) under her belt. Amy’s stage career includes performances in numerous plays with the esteemed Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company from 2005 to 2018. Her talent has taken her on regional and metro tours, gracing stages at events like the Awesome Children’s Festival and City of Perth’s Winter Arts Festival.
Amy has also proven her directorial skills with the successful production of Kaarla Kaatijin in 2018, and A National Park by Andrea Fernandez for the Fringe World Summer Nights with Blue Room Theatre in 2019. Since 2013, Amy has been a valued contributor of the annual Yirra Yaarnz play readings hosted by The Blue Room.
Amy’s experience extends beyond the stage with a diverse body of work including TV commercials for HeartKids and Lotterywest, a short film for the ABC, and a web series produced by Miley Sue for Screen Australia. In 2019, she was cast in the Indigenous comedy series KGB produced by ABC and ScreenWest.
As if her plate wasn’t already full, she co-produced and performed in The Grey Line, a stolen generation documentary created by Halo Films and Life Films, as well as ongoing voice over work for Cultural Awareness e-learning modules.
